Need a debt relief program? To many, debt seems like an insurmountable, sometimes embarrassing problem (like body odor). After all, no one likes to admit they made a mistake. But similar to the alcoholics anonymous twelve step program, the first step to getting debt relief is admitting you have a problem. There are literally thousands of people out there for the sole purpose of getting you out of debt and saving you money. It's a Dead-show sized population. Especially if you abused certain substances at the aforementioned Dead show and began seeing people that weren't there. Maybe that's when you sank so deep into credit card debt. You bought all those Dead t-shirts for yourself and all your Dead friends! Debt Relief Lets You Relieve Yourself in Public--Legally So you're suffering from a debt problem. You're not debt free. It happens to the best of us: Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Rembrandt, Mike Tyson and M.C. Hammer all either went bankrupt or had some similar money problem at some point in their lives. Actor Marlon Brando owed $20,000,000 at the time of his death. But just because it's happening to other people doesn't mean that you should have to live in debt. We all know that living debt can be nearly impossible; chills run up and down your spine every time the phone rings, you avoid going out of the house to avoid nagging creditors. If you're sick of our debt situation, you have two options. And like we always say: if it works for Mike Tyson, it can work for anyone. File for bankruptcy. U.S. law allows debtors to file for title 13, which essentially restructures your debt to enable you to pay it off. Debtors may also file for title 7, which is what most people mean when they talk about filing for bankruptcy. Title 7 gets rid of all outstanding debts and allows the person to live debt free. The catch? With both title 13 and title 7, bankruptcy stays on the debtor's record for at least 7 years. Consolidate debts.Debt consolidation is the fastest way to achieve debt relief and make your debt smaller. And unlike bankruptcy, debt consolidation isn't just a "quick fix" that will have harsh repercussions far into the future. Instead, debt consolidation is a long-term solution that gives you the assistance you need to pay off your debts at a rate that works well for you.
